Mini Pilgrimage

Today David and I were accompanied by 8 lovely ladies to visit St. Paul the Hermit Church in Bestari Jaya ( Batang Berjuntai ) Selangor as part of our Lenten project by our Section 6 BEC of Assumption Church Petaling Jaya. We left PJ at 8.30am and took a slow drive through small towns and lovely countryside and we arrived at the church at 9.45am. We were met by the Parish Priest Fr. Edwin Paul and a few parishoners and were treated to a small tea. Fr. Edwin gave us a tour and shared with us the history of the church and the patron saint. We were also made aware of the poverty of the people living around the area and how Fr is reaching out to them. The members of the BEC gave the church a small donation to help out with the outreach projects of the church. Fr gave us a blessing before we made our way to Kuala Selangor for lunch. Had a lovely seafood lunch at Pasir Panampang and we made our way back to PJ. A very succesful and fruitful visit by the BEC that has left us with the drive to do more for people who live in the outskirts of the city.

My family

My 50th birthday celebration party

I married David...my childhood sweetheart on the 27th of August 1983 at St Anthony's Church Jalan Robertson , Kuala Lumpur. I was a Hindu then but had always dreamt of a church wedding..and yes I did walk down an aisle in a beige saree and a long veil to be wedded to my darling Dave. And we moved to Kuching Sarawak to start our married life...away from everything and everyone...to build the foundation of our marriage. And to date we always say that was the best thing we ever did to get to know each other better.

And as we did that , after just 2 months , we found ourselves expecting our first child . Melissa our daughter was given to us by God on the 12th day of June 1984...we call her our honeymoon baby. We both were elated and delighted and truly blessed  when she arrived....a little girl .....with beautiful black hair and big black eyes and everything was just beautiful about her. She was baptised on the 15th of July 1984 at St Peter's Church , Jalan Padungan,  Kuching as Melissa Stefanie Netto , Stefanie being her paternal grandmother's name... Stephanie Fernandez . We brought her home to Kuala Lumpur when she was 6 months old and it was a delight to both sides of the family especially her grandmothers who pampered her every bit of the way. And as her kindergarten teachers told us when she was 6 years old...she is just a delightful and hardworking child...and till this day she is just that...a blessing to the Netto family. Melissa is currently a lecturer..something she had always wanted to do...and is doing very well..and most of all enjoys her job very much.

Andrew was born on the 10th of April 1987...another gift from God to us...as David and I longed for a son...and on that day he arrived to make our family complete. He was baptised  on 24th May 1987 at Risen Christ Church Kuala Lumpur as Andrew Peter Netto , Peter being his paternal grandfather's name... Joseph Peter Netto . Unlike Melissa , Andrew's teachers always said that he plays the fool too much and he would have to work very hard to make it...but today this young lad is doing very well career wise and is a responsible young man...and enjoying what he does very much.

I truly am blessed to have the three of them as they are the love of my life....and this heart beats because of God and my family.

Its no joke

I have always wanted to blog especially since I retired in 2009 about my travels and family...so  here I am...and its no April Fool joke...I will be back with my travel news and photos...when I figure out how this works.
