Camberley , White Waltham and Henley on Thames

The morning sun beamed through the greyish blueish sky in Wokingham in the Royal County of Berkshire and we anticipated a beautiful spring day...and it was....no cold winds but slightly cool breeze blowing with the blazing sun shining.

David and I drove to Camberley that houses the biggest Marks and Spencers Store and Tesco Extra...I was in M&S and David ended up in Tesco. Browsed around...got some bargains...and the beautiful day ahead was too precious to be spent behind shop walls so we decided to leave.

We headed for White Waltham to an airstrip that housed many single and twin engine planes...that are hobbies for only the rich. We sat in the car and enjoyed our home made sandwiches and saw small planes taking off and landing in the airstrip. David was like a little excited boy as he  always had a passion for planes. After a few photos and seeing planes taking off and landing we decided to head to Henley.

When I reached Henley on Thames...named like that because the town is situated around the Thames River....I was totally awed. This pretty little town is bustling around part of the Thames River and its filled with old and new buildings...some very old churches dating back to 1204 and quaint little shops sprawled all over the town. We parked our car...took a stroll down the marina...had my capuccino...went into an old church St Mary the Virgin and sat awhile and prayed for our loved ones....and walked along the shops. And to top that the weather was great and as the man who sold me some postcards said...You have chosen a perfect day to visit Henley.

It has been a beautiful day and the images of the little town around the River Thames are so vivid in my mind...I told David I could live in an English town like Henley.
