The Tale of Two Italian Cities

On the 16th of May 2011 after a hearty breakfast at the New York Hotel and chatting with some guests ...with the cool winds blowing on our face we walked 15 minutes to Corso Buenos Aires Milan...the longest shopping street in Europe and very often compared to Oxford Street in London . There were so many shops to cover...with names like H & M , Orsay , Promod , Furla , Carpisa to name a few. Well Mel was really happy and I just followed her into the shops. Well she got herself a nice handbag from Carpisa an Italian brand and I got some scarves...so I can look trendy in my photos. David just strolled along and enjoyed watching the bikes and cars and the cool weather. After about 2 hours it was time for us to get back to the hotel to check out and make our way to the airport.

We went to the Central Station to get the bus to the Bergamo Airport and we had to bid Milan goodbye as the bus left the station and got into the highway. We passed by the same route and I distinctly remember that there were some Italians aboard the bus and they just talked and talked and their hands moved in every direction...thought the Indians were bad in that department....the Italian beat us to that. we reached the airport and checked in to Ryan Air and at 4.55pm we were on our way to another Italian city....Rome.

We were welcomed into the Ciampino Airport Rome with a large poster of Pope John Paul 11 as his beatification was on the 1st of May 2011. We boarded the Terravision bus and it made way to the city and as the bus came into the fringes of Rome we saw more posters of the beatification and I thought how blessed we are to be in Rome at this very historical moment. The bus turned into the main train station...Roma Termini and we had to look out for the Vienese Hotel. And it was exactly where the bus stopped. We made our way there and was met by Mr Bruno the manager who took us to the Evergreen Hotel and he was so excited that we were from Malaysia as he had worked in Singapore before. Our room was big and very cosy for the three of us...and yippee there was a computer so we could get in touch with family and friends back home. Another Brahim's dinner was prepared by yours truly and after dinner we took turns to use the computer. And we went to bed early....to get ready to tour the city of Rome the next day.
