Today is one of the days we did not want to do much so David and Simon went off to run some errands and we ladies had coffee and French Toast for breakfast and just chatted. When the men in our lives returned they said we were going out for a picnic so we made our sandwiches and packed them and headed out.
We arrived at the magnificent Windsor Castle located in the county of Berkshire after a half hour drive....and the castle did welcome us with all its majesty. Perched on a hill in the town of Windsor and surrounded by shops and houses.. it was filled with tourists and locals...and I got the feeling that The Queen was watching from one of the many rooms as the flag was flying to indicate that she was home. We walked around and took some photos after which we sat and had our picnic by the Castle...what a treat having lunch outside one of the residences of The Queen. The gift shops were filled with people shopping for memorabilia of the recent Royal Wedding....including me. It was really a beautiful sight to see people from all walks of life and some with their pet dogs just walking around the castle and some just sitting on the many benches situated along the castle...reminding us the Royalty do love their people and want them close to where they live.
It was just so lovely visiting this magnificent castle...and its Castles and Royalty that is synonomous with England.
